Sogetsu Ikebana Curriculam

The Sogetsu curriculum provides a structured yet flexible path of study, progressing from fundamental forms to more creative expression.

Each textbook builds technical understanding, compositional awareness, and confidence in working with natural materials.

As students progress, they are encouraged to develop their own interpretation within the Sogetsu philosophy of “not a copy of nature, but a personal expression through it.”

Upon completion of each textbook, Students will be assisted with applications for the internationally recognised Sogetsu certificate and guide students towards teaching qualification.

In addition to holding the Riji qualification, Hiroko Prado undertook an intensive three-month study at the Sogetsu Headquarters in Tokyo in 2025, supported by the prestigious Norman & Mary Sparnon Foundation scholarship.
This experience provides her with a direct understanding of the teaching approach at the headquarters, offering students a foundation closely aligned with Sogetsu’s core methodology.
